Our Voyage

Tushita Meditation Centre

We will mediate and receive teachings, enjoy a stroll through the beautiful gardens.

Mcleodgunj

Shopping, traditional Buddhist artwork (Thangkas) and the best thali of your life.

Namgyal Monastery

We will walk around the gardens, if we are lucky perhaps we will attend a talk by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Here we will also visit the Tibetan museum which gives us an understanding of the people in exile.

Bhagsu Waterfall

We will take a mindful walk through Dharakot to the Bhagsu waterfall. Stopping for an incredible dinner at common ground on the way back up.

Jawala Temple Shaktipeeth

The temple believed to be 1000 years old is known for its sacred flame, gold-domed shrines & panoramic mountain views.

Naddi, Dal Lake & Triund Meadows

We will head through the woods via Naddi Village and Dal Lake. after passing the Tibetan Childrens Village we will head north to a waterfall. towards the panoramic mountain view of Triund. A beautiful walk to showcase the glorious Himalayan Range.

Kangra Fort

Here we will spend time walking to the top of the fort. Here we will witness a part of history of the Mughal reign in India.

Each location has some spiritual and historical significance. Our focus will be to develop an inner awareness of compassion and kindness towards ourselves and others. Through this practice we will come to know more happiness and ease in life.

Our Practice

Yoga

Most mornings will begin with 60-75 minute vinyasa (flow) practice to get the body moving and the mind awake and ready for the day.

In the afternoons we will practice a lighter yin class.

Mantra

The mantras we will practice will focus on Shiva mantras. Shiva is believed to be the source of Yogic tradition among the Hindu people. We will practice these at the Resort and on our journey’s through the mountains.

Meditation

Our meditation sessions will follow the teachings on compassion and kindness, which come form the Mahayana Buddhist school of thought training. These will be in the morning and evenings.

Accommodation

The Yoga House

Nestled in the mountains of Mc Leod Ganj, our location overlooks the Dalai Lama Temple. Our rooms are designed to let in light, air, and the sounds of nature. Breathtaking views from your private balcony, you are assured a restful stay.

We will also have use of the gorgeous rooftop sky shala overlooking the Himalayas and the stunning Dharamsala Valley.

Meals

On this retreat all meals are vegetarian and made fresh.

Please inform us if you have any special dietary requirements, we will try to accommodate these.

Guidelines

The guidelines for the yoga retreat are to assist your practice and facilitate a deeper experience.

Simple Guidelines

• Attendance at all sessions is required. If you are sick, or cannot attend for any other reasons, please inform Ritu.
• You must attend each session promptly.
• Sometimes we will observe silence.
• No visitors will be allowed during the yoga retreat.

Keep the five Mahayana Precepts

• no killing
• no stealing
• no lying
• no sexual misconduct
• no tobacco, alcohol or other mind altering substances.

What not to Bring

• Do not bring any non-yogic reading material. A journal is ok.

Lead Guide & Teacher

Ritu has a special connection with the Himalayas and ancient Indian teachings. As lead guide & teacher, she will be available to assist your yoga and meditation practice, answer your questions and ensure you are comfortable and enjoying your retreat experience.

More About Ritu

Your Support Teacher

Sanjay has been leading retreats since 2006. He has travelled to Nepal many times for personal practice, and spent approximately 8 months in retreat and study at Kopan Monastery. His knowledge and experience in Mahayana Buddhist teachings and the physical yoga practices makes him a unique spiritual guide.

The prices for the this Yoga Retreat cover your Yoga, Meditation, Pranayama, teaching and practice sessions, luxurious accommodation, delicious meals and day trips.

Prices do not include tourist visa ($100*), airfaires ($1000*), transfer from Delhi airport, insurance ($250*), spending money, massages ($40-$55*) * indicates approximate price.

All share accommodation is single beds.

Travel: You will need to travel from Melbourne to Delhi, then either Delhi to Kangra (plane) and taxi to retreat, or overnight bus from Delhi to Dharamsala and taxi to retreat.

Bookings

A $500 deposit is required to confirm your booking, full payment to secure your place. Full payment is required within 30 days of the retreat. All payments are refundable up to 30 days before the commencement of the retreat, minus booking fees of 5%. Full cost of the retreat will be forfeited if participant cancels within 30 days and the start of the retreat.

The balance of your payment will be payable to Yoga Tree, details will be given.
